WHAT DRIVES ME
Background
Coming from a humanities background, I hold an M.A. degree in Comparative Literature & Philosophy after studying in Stuttgart, Connecticut/USA and Berlin.
In Y2K I started out learning how to plan and build digital products in large digital agencies serving ambitious clients. Now that I’ve been in the digital industry for more than 20 years, I see the things I learnt on my way that go beyond building smart products.
My senior practice has been strongly influenced by the Agile Manifesto, sytemic thinking, servant leadership and the influence of holacracy and self-organization. All of these nudges have shaped the beliefs that drive me and my practice:
What drives me
- Data > Opinion: There are already tons of perspectives out there. My approach is rooted in data, not opinion. If a project allows it, I tap into data (e.g. user, performance, research) to craft data-driven solutions, making sure that decisions are backed by tangible evidence.
- Enable > Serve: Don’t just provide a service – aim to enable individuals and teams. My work is geared towards creating tools and experiences that give others the ability to succeed independently.
- Trust > Control: Building relationships relies on trust, not micro-management. I prioritize transparency and reliability, fostering an environment where trust is the cornerstone of collaboration.
- Done > Perfect: Focus on getting things done rather than chasing perfection. Hard thing to learn for any perfectionist like me. 😉 Completion is key, and I prioritize efficiency to ensure tangible results that make a real impact.
